Monday May 28 @ 02:27amHonestly, screw all these Peeta/Katniss Gale/Katniss end-game arguments because everyone is going to have the ship he/she supports and nothing can change his/her mind.
For me, the bigger issue with the ending in Mockingjay is that Suzanne Collins sent Gale off to District 12 like he was a coward, when clearly he isn’t. Even if Gale had killed Prim (which he didn’t), he would have faced the consequences because that’s who his character is. If he could face her and tell her that there is no District 12 and be the first to volunteer for Peeta for her sake, I think he would be able to face her for the aftermath. It was such lazy writing to just send him off because the whole series reiterates again and again that Katniss and Gale will always have each others back. They were each others rocks for so long, and then the ending just completely contradicts that. I find it hard to believe that she could be okay with Gale not ending up as her friend because he was a huge part in her character development.
At least if you’re not gonna make them friends, give them closure. Gale gets such a bad rep for no reason and I feel like people would have liked him a lot more if he and Katniss had one final talk.
I dunno, man, I just love Gale so much
